The kids did amazing at fair this year. So proud of them and all of their accomplishments. My son is not as excited by it all, but he participates and enjoys going to fair and spending the week with his friends. My daughter on the other hand is my over-doer and she has kept me on my toes the whole summer. She was the Rabbit and Beef Queen for our county fair, was on court for the fair royalty, and recieved 1st Place and recommendation for state fair on all of her cooking projects. She took her Cake Decorating and Global Gourmet projects (they're limited to one project per category at the state level) to the state fair and received and Outstanding award on both. So proud of her for making her goals -- she's been wanting that ribbon for years LOL. She also is a state level ambassador for 4-H and spent every day at the state fair helping out at 4-H sponsored events and organizing the project judging events.
My daughter is a performer at heart. She's been dancing and singing for us since she could walk and talk. In June she had her dance recital and in August she participated in a local festival pagent. Of course mom gets called on to create costumes (which I have to admit I love to do). I made a costume for her clog, helped her pull together the props and costume for a Dr. Who inspired skit, and made her dress. She was beautiful, confident, and amazing at the pageant and is so excited to be on court. She will be traveling around the state to other festivals and respresenting at our local festival.
Now that school is staring back up, my daughter's schedule is not slowing down as she begins her Culinary program for her Senior year in high school. Next week she begins college level classes through a program that allows her to earn high school and college credit. Then, she has also chosen a college and will be taking some jump start classes through them as well. Tuesday and Thursdays will be her evenings with me, so I can help her keep it all straight. So proud of her.
Now I sit at my computer and try to remember where everything stopped. What story should I write first, what promoting should I do... and who the heck moved my Cherry Coke?!

My daughter enjoys keeping active and participates at county and state level for 4-H. She also enjoys dancing and performing, and participated in a local festival pageant. To the left is her cake for county and state Cake Decorating judging. Above that she is waiting to show her steer and Mr. Reuel is showing off his Parent/Advisor Showmanship win.
